Sea Mills still leading the way after Misir's double against Barcelona

UNBEATEN Sea Mills Park remain three points clear at the head of the Senior Division following a 3-2 win over Bristol Barcelona, who took an early lead through Steve Newell.

Chris Misir levelled the scores at the break, then completed his double with a header in the second half, when James Humphries was also on the mark for the 'Merry Millers'. Andy Bush was the other scorer for the hosts.

"This was a very hard game, but we are playing well," said Millers' manager Ikie Greening.

Second-placed Warmley Saints finished 3-0 victors away to Chipping Sodbury Reserves, who were sunk by goals from Tom Mitchell (2) and Phil Anstey after Adam O'Brien missed a penalty for the visitors.

"We have lost a few players since being promoted last season, but the youngsters who have come in have been doing well," said Saints boss John O'Brien.

Wick Reserves retained their 100 per cent record since the new management team of Mike Strawford and Nigel White, formerly with Hanham, took over at the start of the campaign with a 5-0 home success against Nicholas Wanderers Reserves.

On target in Wick's fifth successive victory were Richard Grinter (2), Joe Durican and Tom Brian.

Iron Acton were winners by the same score at home to Hanham Reserves, thanks to goals from Mikel Plummer (2), Ross Davies (2) and Jordan Moore.

Struggling Hallen A crashed 4-0 at home to Roman Glass St George A, whose goals were scored by Nathan Sanders, Tom Sellars, James Haines and Matt Horley. Longwell Green A lost 5-2 to strikes by Ashley Rowe (3) and Travis Harrison for Stockwood Wanderers.

Crosscourt United continued in good form since being promoted and finished 4-2 at home to Shirehampton Reserves through Rob Lucas (2), Ryan Turner and Shane Bryson, to stay on course for further honours.

A 5-0 home romp against Miners lifted Pucklechurch two points clear at the top of Division One, with John Wiltshire (3), Rob Belcher and Dave Makey the marksmen.

Mendip Reserves moved up to second place, despite being held 1-1 at home by St Pancras, for whom Dan Hedges equalised an opener from Ben Thatcher. John Bale netted a consolation for De Veys in a 7-1 hammering away to Talbot Knowle United, for whom Shaun Bailey, Ty Cox and Jack Pullin all struck twice and Alec Sylvester also netted.

Matt Wallace, Adam Moore and Tom Smyth were on the mark for Hambrook, who lost 5-4 away to Bradley Stoke Town, for whom Lucas Entound (2) and Shadrak Asymeng (2) found the net.

Pat Fox missed an early penalty for Division Two pacesetters Totterdown Reserves, but his blushes were spared by goals from Chris Pollinger (2), Ashley Withey and his brother Mike in a 4-1 home victory against Bitton A.

Chipping Sodbury A are still without a point following a 4-1 defeat away to Winterbourne A, for whom Dave Herbert (2), Bradley Graham and Joe Parker were on target.

Fry's A failed to reply to strikes by Robbie Underwood, Ryan Wyatt and Keiron Backer for Bendix, while goals from Chris Galleon and Steve Turnbridge could not save Nicholas Wanders A from a 4-2 reverse at home to DRG Frenchay Reserves.

Roman Glass St George B continue to set a hot pace in Division Three and have yet to drop a point following a 6-2 home battering of Patchway North End through Stuart Williams (2), Dan Crossland (2), Mark Menear and Mike Joyce, with Declan Colton and Jamie Nicholson replying for the visitors.

Greyfriars Reserves lost ground after slumping to a surprise 3-0 defeat away to Horfield United, for whom Irish Gaelic footballer Dennis McNamarma scored twice to add to an earlier own goal. "Several members of our team come from Ireland and play Gaelic football on Sundays," said Horfield's secretary Simon Smith.

A 3-0 win at Henbury A boosted Yate's bid for honours, with Lee Robinson (2) and Richard Garrett the scorers, while Hambrook Reserves won 3-2 at home to AEK Boco A, thanks to goals from Sam Casey (2) and Chris Braywood.
