Matt Gill wants Bristol Rovers to try to take their sensational home form with them when they round off their League Two campaign at Dagenham & Redbridge today.
Despite scoring 12 goals in their last two outings at the Memorial Stadium – with a 7-1 thrashing of Burton followed up by last weekend's 5-1 victory over Accrington – the Pirates have found the going tougher on opposition soil in recent weeks.
They are without an away win in their last seven games, but experienced midfielder Gill hopes that can be put right at Victoria Road today.
"We want to sign off with an away win and the type of display we have been putting in at home recently," said the Rovers skipper.
"This is a great opportunity for us to do that and put in a performance that the lads and our fans deserve."
Gill, aged 31, arrived at Rovers from Norwich last summer on a three-year deal and will be making his 36th first-team appearance of the season today.
That is a stark contrast to the lack of regular football he was getting at Carrow Road.
He has captained the side during an eventful season, which saw previous boss Paul Buckle come and go before manager Mark McGhee arrived in January to ward off any fears of a second successive relegation battle.
"I've played more games this year than in the previous two seasons put together," said Gill.
"Maybe because of that I had a few injury niggles earlier on in the season, but now I feel the fittest I've been for three years, so I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into next season.
"A lot has happened this season and it has been fatiguing both mentally and phsyically, but I think the lads have handled it quite well.
"The boys have got their heads down and tried to do it on the pitch over the second half of the season, which I think is what has happened.
"The gaffer has been here a while now, but people are still trying to prove themselves. Everyone wants to play in the last game, which is how it should be.
"I want to sign off with a win, and who knows – I might even get a shot on target!
"I have been trying to get forward a bit more and maybe should have taken one or two of the chances I've had in recent games, so I have been getting a lot of grief in the dressing room."
Matt Lund – who scored twice after coming off the bench last weekend – is unavailable with his loan spell from Stoke now over, but McGhee says fit-again Wayne Brown will take at least some part in the game.
"Matt is one of the ones I'd love to have back next year," said McGhee. "I have spoken to Stoke and there is a chance of that happening."
Danny Woodards, who missed the Accrington game through a hamstring injury, will be back in contention this weekend after completing a clean sweep of the club's Player of the Year awards.
Having already picked up the honour from the Presidents Club and Young Pirates, the versatile defender made it a hat-trick when he was the choice of the Supporters Club too.
They chose striker Eliot Richards as Young Player of the Year, while the Jane Brown Trophy for Goal of the Season went to Mustapha Carayol for his 35-yarder in the recent win over Burton.
The Alan Lacock Youth Team Player of the Year trophy was awarded to Mitch Harding.
