Hands Off the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme

The Government is proposing changes to the CICA that undermine the basis of payment of compensation to the victims of violent crimes. Such changes will increase the minimum level of injury required to deserve an award so that victims of muggings and assaults etc may not receive an award.
